Description:
Cradock is found in the Chris Hani District of the Eastern Cape, lying on the banks of the Great Fish River. A typical Karoo farming town; known for some of the best wool and mohair production in the country. Cradock was founded by Sir John Cradock after the Frontier War of 1812. The Great Trek originated here and from neighbouring districts.Cradock has a thriving agricultural community specializing in the production of not just wool but also cattle farming, ostrich farming, lucernes, fruit and dairy farming in this area.
Attraction and activities in and around Cradock: Mountain Zebra National Park, Great Fish River Museum, the Old Water Mill, Cradock Spa, historic buildings and the Cradock agricultural show in October.
